Cancer Smart Bomb Research

Do you remember the Smart Bomb footage of the Gulf Wars on CNN, where the bomb was launched and you watched on full video as the smart munitions flew thru someone?s window and exploded? Well, some really brilliant folks at MIT had an idea. A cancer drug which could go to a cancer cell and penetrate it like a sponge and then seal-a-meal itself in the cancerous region. Then go off and attack the cancerous region without hurting nearby cells. Wow. How did they do it? Using nano-articles, that?s how.

The lethal dose of anti-cancer toxins goes off like the Mother of All Bombs and does not hurt the non-cancerous cells. It has been tested on Melanoma and Lewis Lung Cancer in rats so far. Soon clinical trials and tests will begin on real people, but everyone is very excited and pretty certain this will work very well. It was a group effort at MIT, between nano tech, bio-medicine and cancer researchers. They are confident that it will be better for the patient than the chemotherapy due to the reduction of toxicity to the healthy surrounding tissue cells.

By using this new research and methodology the MIT team hopes to cur off enemy supply lines, while dropping smart anti-cancer drugs on the cancer cells. Similar to starving out enemy insurgents and then attacking them from the air with precision smart bombs, a strategy which is currently ripping the heart out of our enemy. The nano cell or super Navy Seal like team, is like a balloon within a localized grid of the modern net-centric battlespace. A balloon within a balloon, where it releases the treatment, an anti-angiogenic drug; thus the blood vessels feeding the tumor then collapse, which means the loaded nanoparticles are trapped in the tumor, and release the chemotherapy. It worked in the mice, now it is time to use this to attack cancerous areas in humans. Eighty percent of the mice survived over 65 days; the best so far would have been only 30 days. The untreated mice died at less than 20 days. The nanocell treatment worked best on melanoma t! han lung cancer, but with a little work the researchers believe they will have an answer for safer treatment for many types of cancers and drastically increase the odds of survival. The future where cancer is conquered is rapidly approaching, that is good news for the World and it means more Lance Armstrong types amongst us. Think on this, because it is all good and it will be here soon.

Parkinson's Disease and the Glutathione Discovery

If you have Parkinson's Disease, you may have heard whispers about the results people with PD are experiencing by raising their glutathione levels. Their symptoms are vastly diminishing and even disappearing altogether. As the news of glutathione travels around the world, those whispers are becoming a roar.

The roar is: Glutathione repairs cellular damage.

If you have Parkinson's, the free radical damage to your cells is already very advanced. What's really scary is, it is also likely that you have extremely low levels of glutathione, your body's master anti-oxidant and most important free radical fighter. If you have PD, the free radicals are winning, and you're paying the price.

Your glutathione levels could be as low as 2% of normal. This is why people with Parkinson's Disease who are taking the steps necessary to raise their glutathione levels are experiencing freedom from their symptoms. This is big news in the war against PD.

The battle cry is growing louder as more and more studies are coming out every month that positively validate the connection between Parkinson's, free radical damage, and low glutathione levels.

So, What Is Glutathione?

Glutathione is produced in every single one of your cells. It is your body's master anti-oxidant. This means four big things:

Glutathione neutralizes free radicals.

Glutathione repairs cell damage already done by free radicals.

Glutathione detoxifies you and flushes toxins out of your body.

Glutathione recharges all of your other anti-oxidants.

If you're a little fuzzy on the nature of free radicals and the extensive damage that they do, or the vital importance of anti-oxidants (free radical fighters.)

Recent research has analyzed the brain tissue of people with Parkinson's, and scientists have found that the damage is consistent with extensive oxidative stress. Oxidative stress IS free radical damage. Basically, the brain tissue of people living with Parkinson's, and other neurodegenera! tive dis eases, is 'rusting.'

Fighting free radicals means fighting the rust. Glutathione is the master rust-fighter; it can actually repair cellular damage. And what this means for people with PD is that their symptoms can be greatly alleviated, and even reversed, if their glutathione levels are increased.

How Do I Get More Glutathione Inside Me?

It used to be very expensive and inconvenient to raise your body's glutathione levels. You'd have to go to the hospital and have intravenous treatments three or four times a week. Those days are gone.

There is now a safe, easy and natural method of elevating the glutathione levels in your cells. Its effectiveness has been proven by scientists and by people with PD who are experiencing increased freedom from their symptoms.

Where there's a will, there's a whey.

This new treatment is an un-denatured whey supplement. 'Un-denatured' means that the whey's bioactivity is still intact. This is key. If a whey product has been heated during processing, its bioactive qualities have been destroyed. If a whey product is sold in a pail or jar, it will only be a short matter of time before its bioactivity is oxidized and thus destroyed.

Choosing your 'whey' back to health means selecting a whey supplement that is? a) un-denatured and b) packaged in single serving portions. If your whey is still bioactive, then it's armed and ready to fight the free radicals that cause your cells to rust and die.

Science Finds A Whey

Glutathione is made up of three amino acids - glycine, glutamine and cysteine. Both glycine and glutamine are easy to get from your food, but getting cysteine from your mouth into your bloodstream is much more difficult. This is why so many people have low glutathione levels.

Scientists needed to find out how to get cysteine into the body. They already knew that taking cysteine orally, in a capsule, wasn't working. The body was destroying the cysteine before enough of it could get into the cells. Why? Because the! body se es a cysteine cell as a threat.

Scientists discovered that when a cysteine cell traveled with another cysteine cell, the body let 'the dynamic duo' move through the stomach and into the blood. Hurray! All the building blocks for producing glutathione were in place.

Was there somewhere in nature where this double-bonded cysteine existed?

Yes, in un-denatured whey.

This was a massive discovery because it meant that the all-important cysteine could get into the cells without being destroyed. Finally, glutathione could be readily made because all three amino acids were together!

There's A Whey to Take Back Your Life From PD

There is now scientific evidence that raising your glutathione levels will improve your Parkinson's symptoms. Many people with PD are already experiencing these results. The most exciting discovery about glutathione is that it promotes cellular repair. This is way beyond 'managing your symptoms,' it is actually repairing the damage that is causing your symptoms.

Glutathione is like the general or commander in chief of all the anti-oxidants in your body. It recharges the hundreds of other anti-oxidant soldiers that you have fighting for you. Glutathione provides the artillery and organizes the 'charge!' against the free radical attack. It is your most earnest ally.

Research proves that there is a 'whey' to help glutathione fight the good fight for you: an un-denatured whey supplement. You can support your body in its battle against Parkinson's by making an informed decision about your treatment. And you can help other people living with PD by sharing this information with them, too.

It's a new age of responsibility, and of information. The research is at your fingertips. Find Your Whey Out.

Mental Tension

Dear Friends,

Man alone is born crying & lives & dies complaining. Other being have neither worries nor problems in their lives. But man on account of being rational & emotional is influenced by even small thing & manifests his reactions. These reactions are more unfavorable than favorable.

Someone is worried on account of lack of material happiness & comforts; someone else is worried on account of lack of mental peace. These problems have become even more serious these days. New problems are arising alongwith the development of civilization. Of all the problems created by today?s material civilizations, the main one is mental tension.

To keep oneself busy is the surest way of keeping free from mental tension alongwith various kinds of problems. Co-ordination between ambitions & capabilities also reduces tension to a great extent. Everybody is desirous of rising higher than his present position & reaching the acme of progress. Freedom from anxiety should be made our aim, but we should not be impatient & bewildered. The aim can be achieved step-by-step.

It is also necessary for an individual to have faith in God in order to save himself from bodily ailments produced by tension. Some people may object to the acceptance of God?s existence, but everybody can have faith in himself at least.

Tension of god is much more good than mental tension, as it relieves us from all the agonies of life and takes us to the highest goal of our life- pure happiness which is the true state of our soul- SAT-CHIT-ANANDA SWAROOP.

Depression and Experts

This article is about depression from an unusual perspective. It is about the powerlessness and hopelessness of modern psychological science and research. The importance of an holistic approach to mental and physical health will be explained.

Do you know, what really startled me since I was a child?

It is actually very simple but profound at the same time. I could see that there were problems in the adults' lifes. That was one thing. The other was that they never seemed to really get beyond them. My first assumption about grown ups was that they are really smart people. I mean, they were grown up and I was a kid. You admire them. Anytime they want they can turn on the TV or take the car for a ride, just for fun. They can go to sleep whenever they want or they can stay awake till the morning dawn. They are gods...

My father used to comment on the radio news. From what I could hear I realized that adult people are not what they seem to be. They lacked knowledge, although they heavily pretended to have some. Adults build huge hospitals, but the number of diseased people is increasing. They do a lot of research, but things get worse. They are holding big conferences, but there is no solution to poverty, hunger and pollution. The destruction of the planet continues, unhampered. They scientifically study the human mind for years, but still they are fighting over minor issues and killing each other. Depression is rampant.

The experts are wearing white coats of authority and they look really impressive. But the picture is deceiving. They are as helpless as the rest. They have been told that depression is caused by some material disfunction in the body. They wouldn't admit it, but this theory is the cause of their own latent or acute depression.

There is one important saying: Doctor, heal thyself. So, obviously, an expert treating depression in a person should be free of that mental condition himself. But is this really the case? Are our experts examples in t! heir own lives? Have they achieved the peace of mind and the happiness that we are looking for?

To be quite frank: Our mental health experts are haunted by depression themselves.

Of course, their job is demanding and it is hard to stay untouched from all these unfortunate human destinies. But that is no excuse. For a health practitioner it is of prime necessity to become a strong, positive and loving personality. It is not enough to just know one's field of expertise. Life operates on rules that cannot be managed properly just by some theoretical knowledge. A doctor abusing nicotine and alcohol is as unbelievable as a psychologist suffering from a minority complex, being arrogant and insensitive.

People tell me about their experience with mental and physical health practitioners. They feel ignored, misunderstood and treated like an innate object. That's how modern science looks at it's objects: things, which have to be manipulated into proper function. People feel that the experts lack self esteem and hide behind academic degrees and honors. They rightly perceive all this as symptoms of personal weakness. How to develop real trust in such a person?

The formal training in any given area was much less in former times. But that does not mean that we have become advanced. Modern education has created highly trained specialists in their respective fields, but being too much focused on a tiny segment of reality they seem to have lost the whole big picture. At the same time they have lost themselves.

A person is not just ears or heart or mind. A person is an individual being. And what does that mean? A person cannot be divided. A person is one. Treating a depressed person without this consideration will only lead to frustration and more depression.

Depression spreads like wildfire. People seem to get lost in the rat race and the competition. Survival of the fittest. They drown in the struggle for existence. The one and only thing a depressed person needs is un! alloyed love and compassion. No one will learn this at university. The students will learn about material processes in the body, in the brain. But they will learn little or nothing about the person possessing the body or brain. In this way they will not learn anything about themselves, too. They will look at depression with the arrogance and helplessness of a lost soul. How should they be able to help?

A psychologist, a coach, a trainer, a priest, a doctor: they all have to understand what life really is. They have to thoroughly understand themselves first. They have to get rid of their own depression and hopelessness deeply buried in themselves. They actually have to become free and independent loving persons. That is the real challenge: How to transform oneself into a great personality. Theoretical knowledge alone is useless.

Diet Anxiety & Panic

I think the old saying ?You are what you eat? ? is so true, when your eating junk, you tend to feel rather lousy. I can vouch for this!

I used to be a manager in a fast food joint, and because I could eat for free there I did. I was working 12-18 hour days, and I was expecting a bunch of junk food to get me through the day? NAH-UH!

It was during this job that I developed Anxiety and Panic Disorder, my lifestyle was so unhealthy on so many scales its no wonder I was so vulnerable to develop to Anxiety and Panic Disorder.

As I begun to change my eating habits, I noticed a massive improvement in my concentration and my over all well-being. I didn?t feel as tired through-out the day and actually felt more keen to exercise.

I am no diet expert; I usually stick to the original diet pyramid. I start my morning with a bowl of cereal and toast. A sandwich for lunch (preferably salad with fresh ham, depending on how rich I am that week) *smiles* otherwise it might be the good ol? vegemite sandwiches, and usually a banana and a yogurt for through-out the day for morning tea or afternoon tea.

For dinner I usually have a variety of either fresh chicken, fish, seafood or red meat. Read meat being the most frequent. With steamed vegetables as steamed vegetables are meant to lock in more of the nutrients compared to boiling them. And as I?ve been told, the more colours on the plate, the better it will be for you!

This diet worked wonders for me. Of course at first it was hard to adjust to, I just didn?t feel full, and I guess I was craving a cup full of greasy oil haha. *ewww*

However, a week or two later, my body had adjusted and then I could reap the benefits.

Depression Series: Why Don't I Respond to Medications? (Part 1)

Maria has been feeling depressed for at least two and a half years. About three years ago, her husband of 20 years left her for another woman. Devastated, she became despondent and tearful almost daily.

Eventually, her depression got worse associated with inability to function. Her appetite, energy, concentration, and sleep became impaired. She also felt hopeless and suicidal. Her psychiatrist put her on a starting dose of antidepressant. She responded initially but after a few days, she felt just like before taking the medication.

For the past two years, Maria has tried four types of antidepressants. She has taken the usual adult doses of these drugs. Although she somewhat improves, she has virtually remained the same ? depressed and disabled.

Maria seems to be taking the medications regularly. But why is she not responding to her antidepressants?

Maria is just one of the many depressed individuals who don?t feel ?normal? despite treatment. Depression is a treatable disease but how come some people don?t do well on medications?

There are many reasons why depressed patients like Maria don?t improve on antidepressants.

First, is the diagnosis correct?

Depression can be caused by many clinical entities. Sometimes, knowing the right diagnosis is a challenge. Medical disorders, medications such as beta-blockers and benzodiazepines (e.g. clonazepam), and various psychiatric disorders can cause depression and they all require different treatment. If your doctor fails to identify and treat the true cause of your depression, you will remain depressed despite the use of antidepressant.

Second, are there co-morbid disorders?

Depression can exist along with other psychiatric disorders such as anxiety disorder, alcohol or drug problems, personality disorder, dementia, and psychosis. Depression will persist if these co-morbid disorders are not treated. For instance, depressive disorder with psychosis cannot be adequately treated just with antidepressant alone. ! You need an antipsychotic drug added to an antidepressant to treat the illness.

Third, is there an ongoing neurological or medical disorder that precipitates, aggravates, or complicates depression?

Hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, vitamin B-12 deficiency, pancreatic cancer, brain tumor, Parkinson?s disease, and stroke can all cause depression. If any of these disorders are present, antidepressants are less likely to help. The goal in these situations is to treat the underlying medical condition. A 65 year-old lady came to see me complaining of severe depression. On evaluation, she disclosed that she had been on three types of antidepressants for the past four years with minimal response. I checked her recent laboratory results which showed an abnormal thyroid! No wonder, she was not responding to the medication.

Fourth, are there ongoing psychosocial issues?

Financial problems, family conflict, work-related stress can all precipitate and complicate depression. Despite adequate medication treatment, some individuals will remain depressed especially if such problems are not addressed by the therapist or psychiatrist. Is there any way you can reduce the stressors? Please do so the earliest you can.

The treatment of depression is frequently straightforward. Occasionally however, various factors complicate it. For antidepressant to be effective, a psychiatrist should ensure that the diagnosis is correct, that co-morbid psychiatric disorders and medical problems are treated, and that psychosocial issues are adequately addressed.

Maria?s doctor should explore further the real problem and provide the most appropriate intervention.
